When designing this shell shawl, I was inspired by the colours of the fall leaves. So I used a variegated yarn that has much similarity with the colours of the autumn leaves.

So I used Alize Bamboo Fine yarn, and it was gorgeous. I love the colours as well as how soft & cool it was on skin. I used a 4.5mm hook size, to make it more drapy, and I love how it turned out!

The drapines & breathability of the shawl gives it an elegant look. This beautiful shawl could be a great wearable during Autumn, Summer as well as Spring seasons.

Special stitches

V-stitch: work 1dc, ch3, 1dc in the same st.

Here's a video tutorial on how to crochet V-stitch 👇

Shell stitch: work 7dc in the v-st of the previous row.

Cluster stitch:[ Yo, insert hook into the next st, yo, draw the yarn through the st, yo, pull through 2. So you’ll have 2 loops on hook.] Repeat 5 times. So you’ll have 7 loops on hook. Then, yo, pull through all 7 loops. Ch 1 , to secure the cluster st.

(Note: each time you insert hook in the next st NOT in the same st, while making a cluster st).

Here are photo tutorials on how to crochet a cluster stitch 👇

Note:

• The beginning ch 3 is considered as dc.

• The foundation ch should be a division of 9.

• The pattern is worked up with a single strand except the foundation chain, I worked it with 2strands of yarn held together.

• I worked the foundation chain with two strand of yarn held together because this yarn is soft and making long chain with one strand makes it difficult to make the first row. ( But this is a personal preference, you can work the foundation chain with single strand, if that is easy for you).
