Plaid Hat | Crochet Hat Pattern
This plaid hat is a crochet beanie pattern with pom pom that is easy for beginners to make. The crochet beanie pattern used the following crochet stitches:- double crochet and back loop only double crochet.

Note:
• The beginning ch3 is considered as dc.
• The main colour which is the white colour is referred as “ MC", the grey colour as “ A", and the pink as “ B".
• The pattern is worked up in rows from one side to the other.
• The pattern worked in toddler size and the other sizes are written in parentheses as follows ( child, adult).
• In Row3 & 4, instead of the number of sts for the toddler size which is written before the parentheses, you’ll find hyphens (I.e. ---), that means the specific instruction isn’t for the toddler size, so you skip it.
• The pattern is written in US terminology.

Row1: with MC, insert hook into 4th ch from the hook, & make dc all across. Turn. Total 48 ( 50, 58)
Row2: with MC, ch3 ( considered as dc here & throughout), blo dc all across. Turn.
Row3: with MC, ch3, blo dc in next 19sts (19, 19), dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with A, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with MC, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with A, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with MC, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with A, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with MC, dc in next ---- (3, 3), with A, dc in next ----- ( 3, 3), with MC, dc in the last 10sts ( 6sts, 14sts).Turn.
Row4: with MC, ch3, dc in next 9sts (5, 13), with B, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with A, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with B, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with A, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with B, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with A, dc in next 3sts (3, 3), with B, dc in next ---- (3, 3), with A, dc in next ---- (3, 3), with MC, blo dc in the last 20sts ( 20sts, 20sts) . Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing & Seaming
• With WS facing, seam both sides together from bottom (brim) to the top of the hat. ( the technique used in seaming is by using hook, insert hook through the FLO of one side & BLO of the other side, yo, pull through two, yo, pull through two). Don’t cut yarn, tie off yarn leaving long tail.
• Then, weave tail end, in & out, around the top of the hat. Pull tight to close up the top. Secure with a few knots & weave in ends.
• Finally, flip hat inside out & attach the pom pom.
